Who is a Notary?

A notary public is a person who is authorized by the state to verify the signatures of everyone who signs a document. A notary public ensures that all signers are who they say they are, are not signing against their will, are aware of the contents of the document being signed and administer oaths or affirmations to individuals (to verify the contents of documents are true). A notary public is prohibited from helping you prepare (complete/fill out) or understand legal documents.  .In most cases the notary public is not an attorney, if you need legal advice, please consult an attorney licensed to practice law in your state.

:Many documents such as the ones listed below require a notarization in an effort to deter fraud, to prove the authenticity of the signature and to ensure that a signature was made willingly and not under duress:

Power of Attorney

Wills (Only if prepared by an Attorney

Living Trusts

Refinance & Loan Modifications

Visa Verification

Pre-Nuptial Agreements
